About Our Council
Monsignor Newman Council [4665] was chartered September 15, 1958 and named to honor the beloved Msgr. Joseph A. Newman (photo at left), a long time leader in the Shively, KY, community.  In the beginning, Council 4665 served the parishes of St. Helen, St. Denis, St. Paul, St. Lawrence and St. Mathias.  Robert Huter was the first Grand Knight and Fr. Bernard Spoelker, of St Helen, was the first Chaplain.  Initially, meetings were held in St. Helen's Parish until the Council moved to the present location on Herbert Ave. Monsignor Newman Council works closely with the parishes of the community in the South/Southwestern part of Jefferson County, KY, providing funds for various community projects, and our Brother Knights are active participants in their parishes, scouting, community projects, etc.

Our current membership totals 275.
